City Beach residential balcony treatment works

Conspar has carried out balcony restoration works at this residential property in City Beach after water ingress problems were reported by the owner.

An inspection by Conspar revealed that water had been penetrating the property's tiled terrace floor making its way to the internal soffit and internal wall / soffit junction of the garage below.

Numerous cracks and efflorescence were visible.

The restoration works by Conspar included removing the original tiles of the terrace; removing existing paint finishes at the skirting areas for adequate bonding of new work with the existing brick substrate; installing coving at floor to wall junctions around the perimeter; installing a 5-layer waterproof membrane to protect the slab below and installing a flexible sealant between the screed and surrounding brickwork to provide a flexible waterproof joint.

Established in 1969 and headed by two registered builders, Conspar services the building repair and preventive maintenance needs of residential, commercial, heritage, industrial, strata and publicly-owned properties in the Perth metro area.
