Most issues we are asked to assess are complex - even if they present as a single, simple problem. At this meeting we will begin our diagnosis of: 1. The source of the reported issues. 2. Condition of surrounding / adjacent building and structural elements 3. Overall scope of work 4. Whether other building elements are contributing (eg. Defective / faulty pipework in drains and downpipes) 5. Specification for the remediation materials and systems The above aspects are critical in developing an accurate budget for the works, one that clarifies various issues that may impact the final time and cost for the project. You might consider a meeting us on site to review the issues at your property in order for all parties to gain a better understanding of what is required to ascertain the above items. Due to the resource required and the detail of the specific advice we provide there is a charge for the service. Following the site meeting we may be able to provide a scope of work and quotation for the repairs, or if further details and specifications are required a ‘Remediation Plan’ can be carried out. In both cases a portion of the fee for this initial site meeting will be credited back to you. If added to our services, the Remediation Plan confirms the extent and source of the issues through detailed inspection, and based on inspection provides the owners with a certified remediation strategy, including scope of work, specification, and budget. You may also choose to use the report to source other ‘apples for apples’ quotes for the work. Using our report will ensure that all quotes are based on a single, accurately defined scope of work and repair specification. This preliminary meeting will assist to define the scope of the issue and how best to frame our future remediation plan.
