Mosman Park lintel replacement and brickwork reconstruction project nears completion

Updated: May 27

Conspar structural building repair works at this residential high-rise in Mosman Park are nearing completion.

A major aspect of the works were replacing lintels to floors of the nine-storey building.

The lintels were rusted - not uncommon, particularly near coastal areas. Additional signs of lintel damage were vertical cracks in the surrounding masonry and bulging brickwork. The lintels were replaced with hot-dip galvanised lintels, which are corrosion-resistant.

It is worthy to note, lintel damage can also be caused by movement in a building's foundations or walls so input from a structural engineer is important. Specialising in structural building repair, Conspar often uses structural engineers for its projects.

Another major aspect of the Mosman Park works was brickwork reconstruction at the building's rooftop. This included replacing the roof flashing.

Other essential works included installation of Helifix ties, vertical crack repair, horizontal mortar crack repair, brickwork replacement and replacing the building's wall vents.

Servicing Perth buildings, from apartment complexes, offices and factories to community centres, schools and places of worship, Conspar's team of experienced building repair technicians is headed by registered builders who inspect, diagnose and supervise all works to Australian Standards.
