Scarborough unit block gets structural maintenance works

Conspar carried out maintenance work to a block of residential units in Scarborough with the main focus addressing substantial lintel damage on the property.

"There were signs of corrosion. The lintels were rusting, which was leading to expansion and a fracturing of the brick mortar," Conspar director Byron Spartalis said.

"Moisture in the salt water air was corroding the lintels. They hadn’t been pretreated.

"Because they're embedded in the brick mortar you can’t clean them. You have to remove and replace them."

Conspar replaced all lintels on the north elevation of the property - approximately 100 in total.
